Intro to Biological Anthropology
Biological anthropology is one of the four subdisciplines of anthropology (cultural anthropology, archaeology, linguistics and biological anthropology). Biological anthropology focuses on learning more about ourselves - what could be more interesting than studying yourself?! We do this by studying genetics, evolution and heredity. We also study our human ancestors and living primates.
Paleoanthropologists study human ancestor remains to understand human evolution and how our ancestor species may have behaved.
Biological anthropologists study living primates to try to understand more about how human ancestors may have behaved AND as a way to understand how primates live and how we can help with their conservation.
